Choosing Dr. Smith for Eyelid Surgery
The eyes are said to be the window to the soul. As we age, the effects of gravity and loss of collagen causes lower eyelids to bag and upper eyelids to droop with excess skin.
Are you a candidate for an upper eyelid procedure (blepharoplasty)? If you have excess upper eyelid skin that makes you look tired, impairs your vision or makes it difficult to apply make-up then you are a prime candidate. Some of you may have deep forehead wrinkles from constantly raising your eyebrows.
A simple and delicate 30 minute procedure performed in the office with light sedation eliminates the excess skin. The incision is camouflaged in the upper eyelid crease. The result will open your eyes, making it easier to apply make-up and soften forehead lines.
Tara’s Journey with Eyelid Surgery
Tara underwent an upper eyelid surgery, medically termed a blepharoplasty, to remove fatty deposits from her eyelids. The fatty deposits tended to make her eyes look droopy. She had lived with this problem since she was in her twenties and said that she believes the condition is hereditary.
Tara’s Before & After Results360
She scheduled her consultation with Dr. Kevin Smith, founder of the Smith Center and board certified facial plastic surgeon. During the consultation, Dr. Smith was able to pinpoint everything that could be done during the procedure to help give her refreshed appearance she had been looking for. She was able to ask all of her questions and receive detailed answers, as well as have all of her concerns addressed.
The upper eyelid lift surgery was quick and painless, lasting only about 30 minutes. Her downtime was very minimal and her scarring practically unnoticeable shortly after her surgery. She was very impressed with every aspect of the procedure and said that every part of it.
“Completely Worth It!”
“To be able to see my eyelids and be able to put makeup on, and see the makeup on my eyelids is great. I’m thrilled with the eyes.”
Understanding Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)
Are you a candidate for a lower eyelid procedure (blepharoplasty)? If you have bags, puffy eyes or dark circles that make you look tired, this is the procedure for you.
With local anesthesia and light sedation, the incision is hidden in a natural crease just under the lower eyelashes. With minimal discomfort and recovery period, the sutures are removed in 5 to 7 days. This 45 minute procedure removes the excess skin and fat pads, tightening the skin to restore your more youthful appearance.
The upper and lower eyelid procedures can be performed separately, together or in conjunction with other facial plastic procedures.
Dr. Smith is one of Houston’s most prominent facial plastic surgeons. He has performed more than 3,000 eyelid procedures during his more than 20 year career, perfecting his craft by using his proven techniques thus creating a beautiful and elegant appearance for the eyes.
